Hello and Happy Spring! It's Emily - from True Self Coaching & Energetics! It has been a while...... A little over two years in fact, and if you've been wondering where I went, I want to tell you. I stepped away. Not from you lightly, and not without intention. Life called me into a season that required everything I had. I took a job that became the foundation I needed β one that quietly made space for some of the biggest changes of my life: ending a 23-year marriage, selling my home, downsizing, and beginning again. My adult children found their own wings and flew. And I stood in the middle of all of it, rebuilding from the inside out. It was hard. It was necessary. And it was deeply, profoundly mine to walk through. Now, I'm back β and I'm stepping into my business full-time again. Not because everything is perfectly figured out. But because I'm ready, and because this work is what I'm meant to do. I'll be sharing more of this journey with you as I go. Which brings me to something I want to share with you today. A little story and hopefully some inspiration for both of us! When a story, TV show, or even a movie is going to take a negative turn for the lead character, I internally cringe and tighten up. If it's an audiobook, I'll actually turn it off. If it's a TV show, I close my eyes......I don't want the discomfort of things not going as planned. Being an empath, those emotions hit hard.....like really hard......and I don't like it. I like people winning and succeeding and living fully. Yet to get there, we have to overcome a challenge, and that's the whole point of the hero's journey, isn't it? You have an idea or a dream, you take action, and then β inevitably β you run into a challenge. Then you learn, you grow, you overcome, and you come out the other side as the hero of your story, the hero of your life. It feels so much more rewarding when we reach that goal, knowing we went through that challenge or that discomfort. How many times in our lives have we had a dream or an idea, started on the path, and when it got hard, we said, "Nope. Forget about it. I can't," and we just stopped? I can't count the number of times I've done that. And I also know that I've come up to that hard point β that challenge, that edge β and said yes and did it anyway. I embraced the fear and went for it. How many times have you embraced that fear and just gone for it? Maybe it was a job you wanted, or a promotion. Maybe it was in your love life, or with your friends, or it was a travel adventure, going back to school, learning something new. Or perhaps you had that tough conversation you knew you had to have, and you did it. And it felt so good. You overcame. So last night I was listening to a story on Audible, and the main character was going after her dream. She was feeling the self-doubt, the inner critic. And there were others in power above her sharing their opinions: that she wasn't good enough, she wasn't worthy, she didn't belong there. They were feeding her inner critic. And when it got to the point where she believed the negative and was giving up β she said, "OK, fine. I can't. I know I don't belong here" β even though everything inside of her was calling her to stay in it, to go after her dream. She let the self-doubt and the words of those in charge make her believe she wasn't capable, or worthy, or allowed to go after her dream. It was a baking competition in a magical realm, and she was human. And she was sent away. She allowed herself to be sent away. She gave in. How many times have we done that in our own lives? Just about when I was ready to turn it off he was worthy, she was capable, and she had every right to be there. She wasn't breaking any rules. And as her friend worked to convince her to stay, oh my gosh β I took a breath. My heart soared. I felt happy for the possibility, and for the friendship, for that reminder: you're not doing this alone. And here I am. I am at a point in my life where I have a big dream and goal. AND......I am hearing the inner critic and the voice of fear. I hear the negativity around me, the concerns, the worry, and I can feel the self-doubt building within me. Yuck.... Yet I am choosing to let hope win. I want this new dream and this new goal of mine so badly that I am going to embrace the fear and do it anyway. I'm going to listen to my friends, my peers, my guides, my coaches, my mentors. I'm going to tap into that inner voice β that "you've got this" voice. I want to say yes. I want to move forward. And I don't have to do this alone. Neither do you. Whatever your dream, your goal, your vision for your future..... whatever it is that you want.... It's yours. You deserve it. It's your idea. So why not turn the volume up on that? Smile and feel into the possibilities. Heck, even dance a little to the new rhythm of it! Feel it. Embody it. And move forward on your hero's journey, because you deserve it. We all deserve the goal and the dream we're going after. Is it going to be easy? No. Is it going to be messy? Oh my gosh, yes β because that's what makes the hero's journey so rewarding. Even though we want to cringe and pull back, if it is something you truly want, something you believe in, something you know is meant for you.......GO AFTER IT! I am cheering you on. I don't know how the baker's story ends yet, I have another hour and a half to find out. But I'm rooting for her. And I'm rooting for you too!!! Please, I would love to hear your story. Where in life did you come up to that hard place and decide to turn around? And where did you push through, and what happened when you did? Hit reply and tell me. I will read every single one. π Coming up, I'll be sharing:

Hi Reader, This past weekend I noticed something. I was on Fast Forward. I was rushing to pack up and leave. Rushing through the drive to the office while eating my breakfast at the same time. And then I caught myself... rushing, when there was absolutely no reason for it. Somewhere inside, that Fast Forward button had been pushed, maybe by accident, maybe out of habit. So I turned it off manually. A few deep breaths. Then I intentionally slowed down. I looked around while I was driving. I...
Hi Reader, Disconnection hides in plain sight. "It gets mistaken for ordinary life, which is why so few of us notice we've left." Ooofff.... "...so few of us notice we've left." I read that line this morning and felt it land in my stomach, my heart, and then a full exhale. You know that feeling, when something hits you at a visceral level? It came from an email by Sean Fargo, a meditation teacher I follow, describing his interview with Qigong Master Mingtong Gu. (His new book, Coming Home to...
Hi Reader, Over the last couple of weeks, I have been inspired by my clients, through 1:1 work and in the group workshop. Inspired by hearing them go through life situations where they listen to what is right for them, and what might be wrong for themβ¦or in other words, what is aligned or not aligned with their values and beliefs. And then taking action from that awareness instead of out of automatic habit. What I have been seeing and hearing, is them taking a stand for themselves, by saying...
