Hi Reader, Disconnection hides in plain sight. "It gets mistaken for ordinary life, which is why so few of us notice we've left." Ooofff.... "...so few of us notice we've left." I read that line this morning and felt it land in my stomach, my heart, and then a full exhale. You know that feeling, when something hits you at a visceral level? It came from an email by Sean Fargo, a meditation teacher I follow, describing his interview with Qigong Master Mingtong Gu. (His new book, Coming Home to Embodied Awakening: Reclaim Your Body, Power, and Purpose in an Age of AI, is officially on my list.) The idea is this: when we live from the neck up, thinking and analyzing our way through life, while ignoring the signs from our body, we become disconnected. And as Fargo shared, "A body treated as a machine yields a life of data processing." There's no feeling in data-processing. Let that sit for a moment. Why this hit me so hard For YEARS, I completely checked out of my body. I valued my mind over everything else, and I treated my body that way:
That path led me to burnout, disconnection from myself, and eventually to the work I do today. And here's the honest part: I'm still 100% on the journey. I always will be. That is life. The difference now is that I actually enjoy it. Even when it's uncomfortable and my body is shouting at me, I hear it. I listen. I keep trying new ways to nourish it, love it, and celebrate it. Now, let me be clear........I don't love feeling the contrast and pain; I can throw a mean pity-party. But I do enjoy noticing and taking action from that point. That's the conscious and intentional choice. I'm curious, does any of this sound familiar?
Here's what I've learned: Our body, mind, and heart are like the three legs of a stool. When one is missing, you either topple over or spend a lot of energy just staying upright. Reconnecting isn't a quick fix. It's a process of trying things, noticing what works, and getting to know yourself on a deeper level. And sometimes you need to hear the same message over and over before you're ready to act. (My hand is raised high here!) That's not failure. That's completely human. If you're ready to reconnect, here's your invitation Part of disconnection is losing touch with our dreams and our inner voice. That's exactly what we'll reclaim together in: Infinite Possibilities - The Art of Changing Your Life This course was a foundational building block for me. It's where I started believing in myself and my dreams, surrounded by a supportive community. Don't know what you want yet? Totally okay. Getting clarity is part of the work. Here's what this summer's group had to say:
"Life-changing opportunity!" Crystal
"This class will open your mind, your heart, and your experiences! Say yes to this!" Angela
"Setting aside the time to focus on your dreams is so important, and Emily creates a safe and fun container to allow for this to happen. Emily is a living example of what she teaches. It's a must for everyone who wants to make their dreams become reality." Julie
"Do it! It has been the highlight of my week. I love Wednesdays more than Fridays at 5pm. Loving supportive energy, encouragement to do the work, and be inspired!" Melissa
"It's a beautiful experience with beautiful women. A journey of self-discovery and growth." Anonymous Amazing Woman
Registration closes Saturday, Oct 17. I would love to see you there. If a part of this email stirred something in you, trust that. It might be your inner voice asking to be heard. If you thought of a friend or someone who might be interested, please share with them. With warm smiles, P.S. If a group setting isn't the right fit right now, I'd be honored to walk alongside you one-on-one, through The Reconnection to Self Method™ or one of my other 1:1 services. We can work together virtually and in-person. Click here to see what feels right. |

Hi Reader, This past weekend I noticed something. I was on Fast Forward. I was rushing to pack up and leave. Rushing through the drive to the office while eating my breakfast at the same time. And then I caught myself... rushing, when there was absolutely no reason for it. Somewhere inside, that Fast Forward button had been pushed, maybe by accident, maybe out of habit. So I turned it off manually. A few deep breaths. Then I intentionally slowed down. I looked around while I was driving. I...
Hi Reader, Over the last couple of weeks, I have been inspired by my clients, through 1:1 work and in the group workshop. Inspired by hearing them go through life situations where they listen to what is right for them, and what might be wrong for them…or in other words, what is aligned or not aligned with their values and beliefs. And then taking action from that awareness instead of out of automatic habit. What I have been seeing and hearing, is them taking a stand for themselves, by saying...
Hi Reader, Here's something I find myself coming back to again and again. Your body is always talking to you. Not in some mystical, you-have-to-meditate-for-hours kind of way. In the most ordinary, everyday ways. The belly growl when you're hungry. The tight shoulders creeping up to your ears when your to-do list gets too long. The held breath when something makes you nervous. The 2am tossing and turning when your mind won't quiet down. We know these things. We just tend to push through them....
